    When removing the reed valve assembly on a 9.9 do you need to replace the gasket or apply sealant

    When reassembling ? Motor is a 1999 9.9 Yamaha MSHX . I want to convert the 9.9 to a 15 by expanding the reed valve limiter spacing from 1.5 mm to 6mm and also by removing the rev limiter . Anyone familiar with 9.9's ?

    As I'm trying to convert a long shaft to a short shaft. If I recall they changed the splines at the top of the drive shaft at some point , but it would be good to confirm if they are interchangeable between generations since it's nearly impossible to find parts motors for the newest generation 2...

    Free 1976 Johnson 15HP

    A trusted friend recently helped me when no one else would. So to return the favor, I gave him one of my outboards .... for free. I hope he keeps this motor forever, and hope he passes it on to his kids, and their kids. These motors are made to last forever and that's what I love about Johnson...

    Went to look at a 15hp today

    Seller tried to pull a fast one. Engine had trouble starting. Wouldn't idle. Started overheating in bucket. Messy gasket sealant from a hack fix. Paint was coming apart at the joints in the block. I swear some people have no conscience. I couldn't run away fast enough.

    Rare 9.5 x 12.5 OMC Propeller (13 spline ) for a 9.9 / 15

    This rare original OMC prop came with a outboard I picked up recently. I couldn't find any info on it. None of my local dealers know anything about it. It's discontinued, I can't find any more.
