Giving away the last project boat.

I have a 1957 flying D project that was complete as far a parts but not assembled. It got lost in the move I do not have shop space to complete it so I am giving the whole thing to a long time friend, all he had to do was find a lower unit, and he did. I have a big bin with all the parts...

    Thought better of it

I have the go fast ready my son bought a wetsuit he thought he was going to ski on easter. The dock at the landing is not in yet and it was a cold NW wind gusty so he valued his testicals and chose to not try, he vowed to ski in April.

Now I went and did something.

I could not draw my bow this fall even with it turned all the was down, kind of a sad day I had not shot the bow in 3 years and when you realize yeah I am old now. I have decided to hit the easy button and bought a crossbow what a machine. Launches a 400 grain arrow at 450 feet per second. My...

    Saddest day of the year.

Next Saturday the dock is scheduled to be pulled. Boats will be put away, water toys too. Going to enjoy pontoon rides while I can, my son is coming up to watch the Packers with his Pops and go for one last ski of the season if it will be in a cold rain.

    Electrolysis not a bad thing

I have a submersible pump hanging off the dock for irrigation. It is the envy of the neighborhood, I irrigate at 30 gpm. It is a 115v motor, I bought the pump on e-bay it was cheaper than to build one. It is a chinese product not made with the same safety standards. It is a 2 mire motor with no...

    Non conventional issues.

So was having a sudden issue with my Mariner 115. I have only owned the used motor for a year. At first I suspected a fuel issue with the built in fuel cell so I installed a clean 6 gallon cell, no improvement. I replaced the plugs and wires, no improvement. I changed out the fuel filter no...

Updating the 39 year old Tyee

Pulled the boat yesterday. I am taking a perfectly good Lund Tyee 5.3 American and making it a ski and tube boat. I had already stripped the old electronics and radio as well as a nest of wires. I am going to remove all the live well plumbing when I take the floor out. I ordered new seats for it...

    Made a huge error

I was in Bass Pro last week and I mentioned how nice the pontoons were to the wife, she took that as I am looking at pontoons. Simmer down. I am a firm believer in a pontoon is a platform meant to move slowly and cruise, if you want to go fast you take the go fast boat out instead of the...

    Hole shot hesitation

Have a 1990 115hp oil injected Mariner. Motor starts right up idles well never runs rough. The only issue when I hammer the throttle there is a 1-2 second bog before the rpms go up. This is after the motor is warmed up and happens every time. Carb adjustment. Think it is rich or lean?

1983 Johnson 115 hp not coming up to full power

Had an issue last fall with the motor losing power than not running. The boat has a built in tank so I replaced the fuel filter, the fuel pump and fuel filter. The motor would not start. I suspected an issue with the fuel pick up so I went and bought a 6 gallon can and plumbed that in the motor...

1983 Johnson 115hp tilt and trim adding oil

So I am doing my once a year add oil to the tilt and trim and in the bleed screw when I loosened a snap ring came out. Question does the snap ring go in before or after the screw? Do I need remove the purge plug to reinstall the snap ring or does the ring prevent the purge plug from falling out?

    Lake Association

Well year 2 I am done with them. I learned that the lake association has a meeting and makes all the decisions then has a meeting with the due paying members to tell them what they decided, that is BS. Also learned that the church camp on the lake is a non profit so they pay zero taxes, I get...

    Miserable Midwest Spring

Supposed to get the dock put in May 7th, really starting to doubt that lake is still 95% ice covered. Been a horrible, snowy, windy winter in Central Minnesota and the spring we are at 20 days below average temps so far in April. If I see snow again I may shoot holes in my freezer.

    Long distance commuters

Any long distance commuters here? My commute is an hour and 15 minutes on average for some that is not too terribly long. I drive 83 miles each way every day. 62 miles of it is I 94. I am amazed how many rude or stupid people there are on the freeway.
