    Bunk Carpet

I am probably going to change my bunk carpet this winter. I have found that some have a rubber backing and some have an acrylic backing. Any pros or cons on either of these types?

    transducer cable adapter

I have a Lowrance Elite 4x-hdi fishfnder right now. I just ordered a Garmin 741xs and want to use the transducer cable from the fishfinder on the 741xs. The 741xs uses 8-pin connections. The transducer cable has 5 pins but room for 7 pins. Is there an adapter I could get that would make the...

    PT Boat cruise

The admiral and I are driving to NOLA in a few weeks for a 4 day weekend. We are thinking of taking a cruise on the recently rebuilt PT 305. It is a 45 minute cruise on Lake Ponchatrain and the normal fee is $350 each. Since we are both older than dirt we get a discount so the price is $305 per...

    Trim/tilt switch on motor 2002 Suzuki DF140

The trim/tilt switch on the remote control works fine. The switch on the side of the engine works fine going up. Going down it only works when it feels like it. I assume the relay is fine as it does work from the remote control. Any ideas why it won?t go down on the engine switch? I could...

    Fuel Gauge Reading

When I got my boat the fuel gauge always read empty with the key off and thought it seemed accurate with the key on. I have my interior out and decided to check the fuel sender and pulled the float out. Raising the float out of the tank the fuel gauge went down to empty. When I buttoned...

    Courtesy light bulbs

I need to replace 2 courtesy light bulbs and there are no markings on them at all. They are the mini wedge base bulbs. I searched and there all kinds of bulbs out there with different volts, amps and wattage. I assume I need 12v bulbs but have no idea what amps or wattage I need. Any suggestions?

    Minor Prop Damage

Thers is some minor damage to the SS prop. Not sure if it is bad enough to take it to a prop shop, but probably too much to file with emory cloth. I have read that using a metal file is not a good idea. Looking tor opinions on whether I should leave it alone or not.

    Vinyl color

The vinyl on my boat is in overall really good condition except for discoloration. I used SEM vinyl paint (available on iboats) on 2 cushions yesterday and they came out great. Vibrant color and still soft. But, I am wondering about the color. The white sure is WHITE!! Thinking of changing the...

    Leak somewhere

I am getting about a gallon an hour leaking into my boat. I filled the bilge with water and didn?t see any water coming out anywhere. I checked the live well inlet and outlet and zero water leaking there. The only place I can think it may be leaking is around the lower motor mount bolts. I can?t...

I usually don't rant about anything. I do get ticked off when every story I read starts off with 1-4 sentences and then it says: READ MORE. Then it links to the full story. Apparently the full story is available so there should not be any need to have to click twice to read it.I wonder if it is...

    Bow stop and winch strap

When I am retrieving my boat the bow rides below the bow stop when winching it up. If I get the boat 75% loaded and back in a few feet the stern drops and the bow raises above the bow stop roller and I can winch it almost all the way up. I can?t seem to winch it all the way up and that leaves...

    Wiring trolling motor batteries

I took the wires off my 24v trolling motor batteries to have the batteries checked. One ended up no good so I got a new one. Yellow wire on stereo

On my last boat (actually 2 boats ago) the radio would drain my battery because there was always power to the memory of the stereo. Other than putting in a seperate on/off switch, would just eliminating the yellow wire keep the stereo working but no memory? Or do I need to put the red and yellow...
