    I have noticed lately that my mag plate does not return all the way to the lower stop when you put it into neutral. This makes the Idle timing off by about 2 degrees.     Mariner Spark Plug Gap

    Changing the plugs in my 1980 60EL 60hp Mariner. The Seloc manual says gap to be set at .025. The NGK plugs I pulled out were set at .040. I also have a Mariner manual but it does not give the gap. So, which is right 25 or 40

    Now that I have determined the motor birthdate I have another question. There seems to be two Leter designations for the motor 60E and 60EL.     Mariner Birthdate Needed

    I have a Japanese built Mariner 60 hp. Ineed to know when it was built so as I may buy a manual.<br />The only info I have is: on the cowling it says Mariner 60, and on the tag it says it was built in Japan and has a 675 series SN « 675 305318 ». Any help would be greatly apreciated
