Is there somewhere I can enter my Outdrive seriel # and it would tell me what Model of drive it is? The drive is a 1989 Mercruiser, The engin a 1989 350 260HP. <br />Jeff

I have an 1989 Thundercraft Magnum Express 245 and I cannot locate where that plate is mounted on the boat that indicates the maximum load, people capacity and other info. Can anyone give me an idea where this might be mounted on this boat.
My outdrive aluminum skeg is badly pitted and has a few chunks out of her. I know it can be welded and built back up. I know a good machinist/welder. My question is... what precautions do I need to take to protect any of the internal parts while welding it. Or any other advice on this...
