    Merc 9.9

Working on a friends 9.9 (1994) I think. Cleaned the carb and replaced the fuel lines. I want to run it out of the river so I need to know what kind of fitting screws into the lower unit to hook up to a garden hose.

    20 to 25 hp

So there is a guy advertising a 20 hp Johnson saying it is now a 25 hp just by changing the high speed jet from an .068 to a .072. Is that all it takes? I know the CI is the same.

I need to know what is the size of the E-clip part #203363. I holds the cam roller on the throttle shaft. For a 1958 QD-19.

    Attwood console

I don't know much about this except it was in one my Father in law's out buildings for over 40 years that I know of. It's probably at least 60+ years old. He told me years ago I could have it but until today I never gave it much thought. I'm guessing they're probably not too common anymore.

    58 QD-19 surprise

Tore down the lower unit to reseal and to my surprise I saw this: Two teeth chipped off the pinion gear. No debris in the bottom of the gear case. So I'm assuming someone has been in there before me. Anyway, I have a new gear so I'm good to go. I ran this motor pretty hard so I'm surprised it...

    74 9.9 upper motor mount

I probably already know the answer, do I have to remove the power head to replace the rubber upper motor mounts? I don't see any way around it.

    1958 QD-19

The starter housing (376665) on my 58 QD is broke where the starter pulley bolts to it. Is the metal some sort of pot metal? Probably can't be welded. This little motor runs great and looks like a survivor to boot.

    Fuel pump kit

I'm trying to find a fuel pump rebuild kit for a 67 Johnson 20 hp. Marine store doesn't have anything that old as far as I can see. Want to convert an older motor to a newer pump.

    RDE cylinder cut out

Got my 55 Johnson 25 running yesterday and was wondering what set of events would cause the cylinder cutout to kick in? I might have wound her a little tight in neutral and it started sputtering like on one cylinder.Had to choke it to shut it off. It would start back up easily though. I want to...

    Homemade flusher

Got to messin around the shop this morning so I thought I'd try to make an engine flusher cause the muffs don't work so good on older outboards. Had a lower off a 67 20hp Johnson that was junk so I scabbed the upper water intake plate off it. I drilled a hole through the plate and threaded a...

    Sea King 3HP

I have a Sea King sold by Monkey Ward. #GG8962A. I have no idea what year it is. It needs a new plug (anyone know what #) and I replaced the cracked coil and plug wire. It is in surprisingly good condition so any Info would be greatly appreciated. I'll post some pictures when I get it cleaned up.

    57 Fd 11

Went out this morning with the intentions of buying a boat but came home with this little Jewell instead. Got a tank and an extra female gas line connector. I haven't had time to give it a spit and polish but the inside is as clean as a pin.

    Used impeller

There is a guy on e-bay right now trying to sell this impeller. Advertised as "in good working condition". I think someone should jump right on it. :D

    Ignorance of the masses

I was in the local parts store with hood off my 55 Johnson to get some paint matched when this guy said "boy thats an old one". Told him what it was and he said that they use them old motors for "boat anchors". I asked why and he said "you cant find parts nowhere" I politely told him how wrong...
