1998 Chris Craft 240 BR - Bad Transom?

Few other pictures. Looks to be very nice other than the obvious. I copy pasted the seller's message to me, @racerone. I meant outdrive, but I don't think he did.

1998 Chris Craft 240 BR - Bad Transom?

Looking at a 1998 Chris Craft 240 BR powered by a 7.4l. Seller sent me pictures of a U shaped crack extending from the bilge drain. Is this too low to be transom? What could have caused it? He said: "The vertical black lines are mildew or something, not cracks. The U shaped line is a crack...

Mercruiser 3.0 Stalling When Giving Gas in Forward Gear

I checked out the switch interrupt and it is operating properly. Also checked the pickup tube, and the tank looks very clean. On land, it will go into forward and rev up as well, so it’s definitely related to the extra load put on the boat while in the lake. I’m not even sure of what to try next.

Mercruiser 3.0 Stalling When Giving Gas in Forward Gear

So probably not my issue. Any other ideas? I’m going to check the pickup tube for any blockages, but I’m not sure I’ll find anything.

Mercruiser 3.0 Stalling When Giving Gas in Forward Gear

My original thought was that the shift interrupt switch, when malfunctioning, would cause issues going into gear at all. I'll have my brother shift it into gear and start giving it throttle while I watch the switch. Will it react the same on land as it would in the water? Thank you for the help.

Mercruiser 3.0 Stalling When Giving Gas in Forward Gear

I only have the little filter in the carb and the filter at the mechanical pump, both of which have been replaced trying to fix this problem. It definitely seems like a fuel issue, but I'm just not sure that would only cause an issue when throttling up in forward gear. I do see what you are...

Mercruiser 3.0 Stalling When Giving Gas in Forward Gear

Hi all, Mercruiser 3.0 in a 1987 Rinker. In the water it will idle great, even in forward gear or reverse. Throttling up in reverse causes no issues. Throw it in forward at idle, will still run and move the boat forward. Give it ANY gas at all, and it dies. Will also go through the entire RPM...

Won't start after being on the water

1987 Rinker V180 with the 3.0l. Took the boat out and it seemed to be cutting out here and there, sometimes coming back to life and sometimes completely dying. Took carb apart and cleaned it, replaced coil, plugs, cap, and rotor. Put the boat in at the launch, fired right up and ran perfect...

    Swapping I-MR to MC-1?

Looking at purchasing a 1985 Rinker. The sterndrive gears shredded so it needs replaced. I have a MC-1 sterndrive off a 1981 MC898 and am wondering if it'll bolt up to the I-MR housing. Any help would be appreciated.

No Start Condition: No spark from coil?

It's a 1981 Mercruiser 898 5.0 305. Boat sat for ~10 years. Mallory distributor system. I believe it is the Alpha One Gen 1 outdrive (still unsure of this though. If someone can lead me in the right direction on how to tell, I would appreciate it). Coil reads ~8.3v. Engine turns over fine but...
