    Thanks for the info. As far as the other wood, I was referring to the deck core material not being rotten/soft, except in the helm area. The plywood did feel moist, so I guess that answers my question. Looks like I’ll be installing a new deck. The transom is on the “to do” list

    The deck is solid, and the stringers I have access to seem sound. I was just planning on cutting out just enough to remove the tank. Of course if I do find rot, the job will get bigger.

    I removed a 10” inspection hatch, from the deck of my C-Hawk. I want to put in a plywood core and fiberglass over. How do I support the core, no access inside? Can I soak to strips of ply with resin, then screw them to the underside of the deck? Thanks
