2002 5,7 Mercruiser exhaust manifold keeps cracking - 5 times this summer

Have you swapped manifolds from the good engine?

Why I do not have new boats.

I suppose I might? Not a slam dunk though, and it still wouldn't be fancy. But it would have to be enough money that no matter what I did I couldn't spend it. Otherwise I have different priorities. 10 mill still probably isn't enough for that.

Outdrive initially jammed when turned by hand

Normal behavior He already did all that and it was fine. Agree with alignment, op didn't mention if it was checked Agreed. Not easy to turn the input shaft. Op, remember that when you turn the input shaft you're turning everything in the drive except for the prop when you're in neutral. If...

Mercruiser 5.7mpi horizon single cylinder burning lean

I'd throw on a vacuum gauge and do a leak down test (real one using leak down tester).

    Switch Box Suggestions

Similar issue that I was chasing with a 25 hp all summer...Everything checked out with ohms testing, but voltage from the stator did not. I'd check voltages from everywhere before replacing the switch box.

    Weber 9772SA 4 barrell won't come apart

Pretty straightforward. Remove the screws and it should come right apart

    3.0l not accelerating/boggy

Did you try running with the outdrive off? A rod/bearing knock won't affect compression (and letting the gauge sit won't matter, they have a check valve in them).

Mercury Demand, Demand Linear, Demand Guardian

In that situation, is DL with guardian 95% as well (2nd scenario)? How do auto and manual trim factor in?

    Barefoot skiers?

My BIL tried to get me up barefooting maybe 10 years ago. His method was 1. Sit on knee board 2. Accelerate to 40 mph while sitting on knee board that was neither meant to go 40 mph nor be sat on 3. Stand up and don't hurt yourself. It did not go well. After the fact he let me know that he had...

    5.0LX surging/stumbling

You still haven't actually checked for water. Check instead of assuming. Do you have a water separator installed? Might try running off of a remote tank.

    Wiring help

Wow, there are still L drives around? @Bondo , better off in the force section? Op, see if you can post some pics somehow (the site isn't working)... This isn't typical mercruiser wiring

    Mercruiser shift interrupter switch

Read up in the stickies about how the shift interrupter switch works. If you are having shifter problems, the switch is not likely the problem. Typically shifting issues are due to a worn lower shift cable, but post your engine and problem that you're having

    Mercruiser shift interrupter switch

What engine? I was under the impression that the switch is NLA and that a whole alternate switch plate needed to be ordered. I didn't think that function of the switch had changed though?

    Boat age vs financing.

I wonder if they'd fix it if we started linking pics to THT or something ;)

Maybe my turn for new boat time

I'm pretty sure you need your own thread as well...

Automatic bilge pump, not being very automatic

Most (?) of the float switch types that I've seen allow you to manually lift the float by twisting the pivot, which lifts the float. Also, you may have carp trapped in the base keeping the float from floating. A float type pump can either have an integrated float or one separate from the pump.

When do you pull your freshwater boat?

Tough call for me since I started keeping it on a lift. Less concern for the temps, more for the storms. Huge pucker factor if a hurricane/tropical storm if projected and I'm not around for it.
