    Fuel problem survives engine replacement

I have a 1979 Century 3000 that I must pump the throttle 10 times or more to start. This only happens after the boat has sat for days. Once started, it starts every time with either none, or 1 or two max pumps. Crazy thing is this happened with my old engine (228 Mercruiser with Rochester 4...

Fitting my Bunks to my boat

I would have to look to see if the transom runs the whole width. I thought about a welded bracket to carry the extra length. There is anout 4 inches of the side main fram past the bunk ends now. check this pic to see how custom cobalt trailers extend the outer bunks.

Fitting my Bunks to my boat

I have a cobalt232 and trying to fit it to a Phoenix trailer. there are 4 bunks that all end evenly at the end of the trailer. The 232 has the actual transom recessed about 14" from the extended outer running surfaces. Can I leave the transom supported by the inner bunks and leave the outer...

pulled my drive while in neutral 😬

I pulled my drive to replace the waterpump and forgot to put the shifter in forward. I have an MR drive on an old 1979 Century 3000 with a 1997 5.7 engine. when I split the drive everything seemed OK. after replacing the water pump I re-read the manuel on re-installing the drive. (learned my...

I am going to bond some 3 " aluminum pieces to the the top layer, then bond the other side to the aluminum plate. I plan to use plexus ma310. Do I need the special plexus primer for bonding to the aluminum ? Also, bonding to the top layer. I understand scuffing up the surface to help bond...

    Cobalt 232 swim platform repair

that swim platform is two levels with a lot of curves and coves. I wouldn't know how or where to split the top and bottom skins without tearing up all the bends and coves etc. Even at 1/8 " thick that bottom skin (that I cut 😒) was helping that much ? I like the idea of coring out some foam and...

    Cobalt 232 swim platform repair

So I cut a piece of the bottom skin out where the swim ladder bolts through the skin into the metal thread plates. There is a dense foam filling the void between the top and bottom skins. The foam is very solid and dry. It is cut out about 1/4" deep where the metal thread plates were glued to...

    Cobalt 232 swim platform repair

I took the platform off and turned it over to examine. It looks and sounds 90% solid. (To the tap of a rubber hammer). I can press it back into the original fit. Cobalt says its all composit in there. I am tempted to pry open the crack enough to pump some a bunch expoxy or whatever is...
