    Force 85 Bad remote control

Nothing "weird" about them; just 4 mounting-screws
  2. The Force power

    How bad is it?

I belief that the coolant water played a role also as the water reached the top, it has passed the other cylinders already (but that's in most cases??)

1985 Mercury 85hp (4 cyl) runs great for 20 minutes then boggs down

When you had the flywheel off did you see if there were any magnets missing ? (on flywheel) But you will have to get a timing-light to see if she's firing on all in all modes

1985 Mercury 85hp (4 cyl) runs great for 20 minutes then boggs down

You will have very little effect when spraying into a carb with the choke butter-flies closed. Did you replace the Stator/ trigger with new or "good used" ? What is your max RPMs ?

Tighten that bolt, it usually stops the leak

1990 Force 120 2 stroke loss of power high rpm

To Question one; - I think its just fuel/oil mixture and not necessary grayish?? To Question 3 a & b -I have seen condensation many times, Why? I have my theory I'm not sure what I'm looking for in the picture??
  8. The Force power

1990 Force 120 2 stroke loss of power high rpm

Yes, because it affects the fuel-level in the bowls/float position

I'm not sure what you are adjusting on the carbs but Adjust the mixture on the carbs. Set all low speed needles to about 1 1/4 turns out from lightly seated. Do not force as this will damage either the needles or the seats. With the engine idling in neutral, turn each the needles in equally...

    force 120 hi reving issue

I would check the linkage to the carbs & trigger assembly then re-do the set up 1.Disconnect the ball link to the carb cam at the timing tower. Disconnecting at the cam risks bending the cam. Move the cam away from the carb roller. 2. Loosen the screw(s) on the aluminum tie bar and let all...

    1989 force 50 hp

Welcome on board :) They both have the same upper gear housing / drive-shaft / shift -rod so it would be safe to say they would.

1990 Force 120 2 stroke loss of power high rpm

You could try first; removing the bowls and see if any debris is in the bowls. second would be to remove all carburetors and clean the ports & see if the floats are set up properly if they're not? they either flood the engine OR starve the engine at high speed (because it is not letting enough...

You don't need a actual fuel-pump but the inner-guts and that is still readily available. take a pick of the pump and I'll look for the kit# DO NOT install an electric pump as you could be building a bomb !!

    Mercury 402 40hp 1970s prop unit removal

Soaking in diesel fuel is going to do nothing! Lots of heat and a sliding hammer will! However.... damage may occur to the LU and bearing-carrier!?!? (may have to replace the carrier & clean/deburr the housing for the O-ring to seal) IF you're trying to remove it only to replace the prop...
  15. The Force power

1990 Force 120 2 stroke loss of power high rpm

We both gave you a few things to check..........but fresh fuel is never a bad idea However if you prime the bulb and it seems to help, how's bad fuel going to be the culprit??????

Another Guy With Force 120 Issue

Also would get the coldest cooling water (first)
  17. The Force power

1990 Force 120 2 stroke loss of power high rpm

As Redbarron already mentioned; -start with the fuel pump -replace the fuel-lines (if you have not done this) -check the float settings ALSO; -check the vent on the tank
