    SS Prop for Volvo SX

Years ago there was a Launch at that Rock Canal near Sundance, but about 20 yrs ago, they blocked Canal up. Did they reopen it? Edit: Looking at Google, it is the same One. And I see the Parking Area. I will have to check it out. Keep this on the QT, or else it will be overloaded

    SS Prop for Volvo SX

You did, until I started my Motor... I haven't been out since 2021. The Town Really Effed up the Launch Site, and the Park is now even Worse. Docks are almost Non-Existent. My poor Buick was Sideswiped Last Year, and I haven't moved the Hitch to the Caddy

    SS Prop for Volvo SX

When I switched to the SS I dropped 1" in pitch from the Stock AL Prop. What occurred I had my SS(OMC RAKER) from my previous Outboard on hand, so I had the Hub replaced so it would fit on a VP. I later replaced it with a Merc Enertia. Both props run about the same rpm as the VP AL prop did...

    Proper prop?

You are in the Upper half of the WOT Range which is Preferable. Was this attained with Normal Loading, Light Load, or Heavy Load? Was the the Engine Trimmed for Optimal Speed when you got the Results? Is the Engine mounted at the Correct Height? You say 14 1/2 X 19. I will assume it is a 3...

1998 Johnson 175 Ficht Not Starting

That one didn't get the 2001 Powerhead, as it still the Air Cooled ECM on the Top. The replacement Powerheads had the Water Cooled ECM. This one likely had the Cylinder Heads replaced, and several Reprograming. These Engines suffered from Carbon getting in Ring Grooves and behind the Piston...

    Rebuilt Water Pump Pee question

All the Water Passages may take more than 10 seconds to fill Which 115 do you have, the 99cu in Crossfow, or the 60 degree Looper? You did make sure the Water Tube was inserted into the Grommet on the Water Pump? The Key for the Impeller was in place?

1998 Johnson 175 Ficht Not Starting

It is a 98, and there were many Issues with those Engines. There were a lot of Updates, including complete Powerhead Replacements. The replacement Powerheads were Complete 2001 Powerheads and there were many things different. A few pics of the Powerhead, with all the fancy plastic covers, held...

Another gear oil thread... 80w-90 vs. 90

A lot of Marine Gear Lubes are 75 No, Every Diff I have ever had was Vented, thus not Sealed. Ask anyone who ever submerged the Diff and Vent Hose at the Boat Launch, they usually were replacing Bearings within a few Weeks

Another gear oil thread... 80w-90 vs. 90

Being that Marine Engines have such small Gears, the Marine Gear Oils may contain more EP additives to reduce the Wear on the smaller Contact Areas of those Gears.

96 evinrude 20 hp runs rough mid range

That Motor does not Need a Battery to Run. When you rebuilt the Carb, did you make sure to check and adjust, if Necessary, the Sync between the Carb and Ignition Advance? Again to the Carb, When you "Cleaned it", did that include removing the Disc Plugs and cleaning the Areas behind them? Did...

Changing props. What one to get?

I doubt you will lose much, if any Speed. Though the Pitch is less the Rpms go up, and since you are at the Bottom of the Rpm Range, the Motor will be making more HP as Revs increase. In the 50 yrs I have been swapping Props, I found that within a Given Prop Line, there isn't too much...
