    Prop Damage

Sure, heat it, weld it and pound it out yourself. Easy peasy. Oh, I guess you have the pitch blocks to line it up correctly?

Buying an '03 Sea Ray Sundeck 220

A 20 year old boat that was not maintained. LOL.....I don't think so.

buying a full mooring cover from online seller: Q's

I never said they were equal. What I said was that the SunDURA worked just as well as the other in MY application. If you intended us is Arizona sun or North Dakota cold then maybe you should go all the way. $450 isn't worth worrying about it.

buying a full mooring cover from online seller: Q's

I have both sunbrella and sundura. They are quite similar in appearance and in my applications I see no difference in performance. On that basis I see no reason to upgrade. Also, Carver is the best online supplier of covers. They are far superior to Taylormade. Probably comparable to...

    Transom Step

There has to be some SS rails to hold it up. West Marine carries a model with the rails on the bottom, just like the picture you posted. THAT pic would be starboard, which is superior in every way. Your second picture shows a custom molded FG platform that is OEM to specifically fit that boat.

buying a full mooring cover from online seller: Q's

I have bought several covers from Carver. A custom cover for the specific boat model would be my choice over the styled-to-fit version. I have some canvas in Sunbrella, but IMHO that SunDURA is hard to beat. If Carver carried the model I need, I would buy it in a heartbeat. If not, then I...

    Transom Step

It's not a TRANSOM STEP. Google "Swim Platform". Most every marine store carries them. IBoats has them in fiberglass or teak wood, with or without a 2 or 3-step ladder.

    boat storage

When I was in grade school I took a course in taxidermy. Started with birds. You had to hit them in the chest (where the incision would go), and the pellet could not go out the back or it would ruffle the feathers. My pristine mounts would indicate I figured it out. That all worked fine on...

    Unreadable nameplate

You have the embossed serial number. Call Starcraft and ask them.

    boat storage

Even an air rifle isn't suitable for close quarters in the city. Trapping works, but they keep coming back. There seems to be an endless supply of those little critters.

    boat storage

There is a plethora of anecdotal evidence on how to eliminate critters. Most are snake oil. A garage full of "junk" and clutter will attract varmints. Overhead doors notoriously have openings at one end or another. Thus, they have access. If the only things on your garage floor are wheels...

Not in MY garage they can't.

    Boat Loading Problem

I load from a dock. If you are beach loading, ignore my comments. I have an eye bolt on top of my trailer fender. I pull out the winch cable to the right length and then clip it to the fender. Then back in until the last part of the bunk in in the water. The bunks have ez-slides on them...

    Nissan or Mercury?

I've been running kickers for over 50 years. Switching to the lowest pitch prop available "usually" solves the fouling question. My last boat had a 9.9 Evinrude 2-stroke and even though it was pitched to run high rpms, it still fouled. Just for laughs I tried split-fire plugs and it solved...

    Dust Cap Woes

Not necessarily. The 2nd longest trailer I owned was a basket case when I bought it for 50 bucks. New tires and wheels, hubs, wiring, wire bushing and coating with rust reformer and Rustoleum primer and topcoat, and 30 years later it still looked like new. Proper maintenance.......

    Dust Cap Woes

Alls I know is what I see in the posted pictures. Looks to me like you have a bunch of old rusted crap. Replace the hubs, PROPERLY grease them and put on new hubs that ARE OF THE PROPER DIAMETER. I have owned a dozen or so trailers over the past 55 years and never once had a cap fly off.

    Anti-freeze Question . . . Change of Color ???

You want to rain the tank and bypass it. You do not want to put AF in or thru the hot water heater.

    Winter storage cover

I personally had a cockroach embedded in an ice cube in a glass of ice tea, though. The waitress stuck her fingers in the glass and retrieved the single cube, saying "you're OK now". I left the restaurant. (no, not KFC, but you're close) In my area shrinkwrapper guys don't make house calls...

    Winter storage cover

{BTW pretty much everything you stated about shrink-wrapping is incorrect. Charlie} I guess you never saw a shrinkwrapped boat filled with mold when first opened in the spring. I guess you never saw an outdrive pointing up when the shrinkwrap tore and the prop filled with water, then froze...
