    Fuel Transducer Location?

Sensor for what? Pressure? Flow? Level? If it's a fuel pressure sensor you're wanting to install, it has to go between the pump and carburetor.

Cheap floor and foam replacement for weekend.

The floor ties together the tops of the stringers and does play a role in structural support. The foam also plays a key role in rigidity of the hull. Without foam, you may be surprised how much the hull and floor will flex.

    1981 Springbok 18' Restoration/Renovation

I would keep looking for a 316 stainless bow eye that fits your boat. I wouldn't want to put anything plated up there, as the plating will come off in short order if you're using your trailer winch on the bow eye.

    Another Motor mount repair question

Thanks! I really wanted a boat, so I was committed and it paid off. It was a lot of work but we have enjoyed the hell out of it the last 3 summers. Having a shop to work in year-round is great and can help compress your timeline.

    New guy, floor repair questions

You've got to think past the floors - the wooden structure (stringers and bulkheads) under the floor, the transom, and the engine mounts are likely all rotten. If you've got an hour, click the link in my signature and scroll through my rebuild thread, and note the timeline. It's totally...

    New guy, floor repair questions

Sounds like a classic full gut and restore is needed. If you're having surgery, you probably won't be able to do it yourself, and paying someone is going to be shockingly expensive. My boat took 18 months and about $10K to restore...probably could have done it for $6K if I had cut some corners...

Just do the drill test and it'll tell you everything you need to know. See HERE where I did mine.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

I would build the keel back up then install a Keel Shield

When restoring a boat, the only thing hot days are good for is pouring 2-part foam. You'll get ALL the expansion out of it on these 95+ degree days, lol.

Nice. You should have done that right before you laid glass so you could do wet-on-wet and avoid having to sand any. No biggie though, it's progress!

    '85 Sierra 16.5' Fiberglass - Floor / Transom / New Layout

Nice progress. For surface prep, you're going to want to use 40-grit flap discs on an angle grinder. Wear PPE (tyvek suit, gloves, glasses, and respirator) and either do the grinding outside or build a tent around your boat to contain the mess, because there is going to be a lot of fiberglass...

Repairing gas sensor / cables / vent gas hose

Use USCG Type A1-15 hose. Trident #365 is a good choice for vent line. My boat uses 5/8".

Send it. The hull is probably so thick up there, I doubt you're adding any significant stress.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

FYI I didn't gelcoat my deck where the carpet went down. I'm happy with my carpet here in my 3rd season. It's cool on the feet. I have walked in friends boats with EVA and snap-in weave/mat of a sililar light-grey color and both were much hotter on the feet. I do keep my boat parked under an...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

Pretty sure I did 2x 1708 tabbing on the perimeter, 1x 1708 on the rest of the deck, then 1x 1.5oz CSM over all of it to smooth out seams and transitions and have a mostly flat floor.

Use PB. Adjustable viscosity. Adjustable cure time. Make it with or without reinforcement. Compatible with what your boat is built from. There's no real reason to use anything else!

Chopstran is clumpy. Is this an issue when putting on the regular fiberglass?

A chip brush has its place (with the bristles cut short and even), but I did 95% of my boat with a 4" mohair roller.

    Overheated Weirdness

Idling in the trailer, or with the boat in the water? Are you getting water flowing into and out of each exhaust manifold and elbow?
