    Thank you , I will reread that carefully , and decide what to do.. One thing that bothers me is that when I took the outdrive off initially , it was hard to do.... and when I greased the alignment tool then pulled it out ... there were no spline marks on the end of the grease coated alignment...

    Actually I did use an alignment bar and the process for adjusting the gimbal bearing. The process seems to be kinda inaccurate due to the eyeball process though so who knows? I thought about using small levels on the boat and alignment bar but no one has ever mentioned that ....

    Hi trying to adjust my 3.0 lx engine and shifter, but the shift cable slide set screw ..... Selco says the set screw should be set screw to Seloc 1 /4 turn out Service manual 1/8 turn out max.. which is correct and does it matter ? Thanks

    Gimbal bearing replacement question

    My old gimbal bearing is 2.5 cm wide at the base , 3 cm at the center My question ... is the new non greasable gimbal bearing 3 cm at the base and also the center ? I'd figure the extra 1/2 cm is for extra grease in the bearing body..... or am I wrong ? Thanks
