The issue is the propeller spinning while I tried to start the motor.
Done. I have bought a tool set with 5/8'' and have tested all the cylinders preesures. They are 130,140,130,130,120,120. It seems that battery is shortage of power, So the fifth and sixth should be higher.
Today I tried to do the cylinder pressure testing and usded the 15mm socket and failed, the head of spark was broken. To ensure the spark can be get out, what kind of socket should be applied.

Yes. Propeller stop spinning when I pulled it back to neutral. and it does fire up in-gear.
For the noise I am sure that is from gear but gear seems has not yet bite completely. So it make noise and motor run sliently without mounting outdrive
I will continue to check if the alt smoking...
a few days ago I got a 185HP mercruiser, maybe the year is 1986. I have done the alignment of motor and mounted the outdrive also changed the engine oil. But when I started to fire the motor, the propeller also spinned, it should be stay there without spinning. it stopped spinning when I pull it...
Can Anybody help me read the witness of alignment tools in the attached files. it should be pushed into the end and I can turn it with two fingers. but some difficult to pull it out.
Currently my alighment tool show the witness mark is that bottom touch the coupler more(See the pits of up and down).
