    Ayuh,..... You can't spin a 22" diameter prop on an Alpha drive,..... If you can't spin the rpms you need with a 21" or a 19" prop, drop down to a 17" prop,....

    Ayuh,..... A carb tear-down, 'n rebuild might be a good idea,... The ole quadrajet carbs can leak, internally, which can cause hard starts,.... If shut off for a short time, it'll be a flooded start,..... longer term, the bowls need to refill from the fuel pump,....

    Ayuh,..... I Don't know this as a fact,...... But I believe that 1/4" difference is where the Gen. 2 as a plastic wear plate on each side of the ring,.....

    Ayuh,.... That's a crack alright,...... Best, easiest fix is another running motor, from another '86 to '95, or a fully dressed '96, 'n up,...... '86 was the 1st year of the 1 pc. rear main seal blocks, 'n '96 was the 1st year for the vortec heads, 'n intake manifolds,....

    Ayuh,..... Of course it's replaceable,..... Not easily though,.... It's an aluminum stud, with a nut, 'n washer inside the hull, 'n the acorn anode on the outside,.... Removing the motor is pretty much mandatory,.... What motor ya got,..??
