    Shop manual needed

That boat looks like it just came off the showroom floor 25 years ago.

johnson 115 no spark on right side of motor

Just reread my first post and realized what I typed. The actual shift interrupter if it did have one is not in the control box but mounted on the engine and actuated by a cam on the shift lever. It has been several years since I had a v6 Johnson and my 84 year old mind sometimes doesn't keep...

johnson 115 no spark on right side of motor

Shift interrupt switch in control box will kill one side. It's been too many years and I don't have wiring diagrams any more to help in trouble shooting it. I am sure one of the Johnnyrude pros on this forum will chime in.

Moving 275 Tons w/two Chrysler Outboards

The construction sorta meets the definition of an outboard as it bolts on to the back of the craft. I seem to remember that the Chrysler Marine/Industrial six of the 1940's was rated at 110 hp but there my be other iterations of that motor.

Moving 275 Tons w/two Chrysler Outboards

The RHF or the "Rhino Ferry" as it was better known was designed by the Navy's Civil Engineering Corps to bridge the gap between ship and shore, or for short cross channel operations like that of the Normandy invasion. They were pontoons powered by two Chrysler outboard engines of 143 horsepower...

Is a Tiny Tach a good choice for testing?

I bought one out of curiosity when I dropped the old tach I used in the shop on the concrete floor. Used it to set up timing and carb on the new to me Tohatsu on a boat I bought that didn't have a tach. When I got a new tach to mount in the boat console I was surprised that they both read...

What the heck is this engine? 1000 SC

Reliability is not a strong point in racing engines. I spent a good amount of time around them years ago and wish I had a dollar for every time I heard a mechanic say "I wish these motors had zippers on them." I can't remember a time when our stock car went more than 3 weekends without some...

    Tire and Loading Info

I don't know how much a slide in weighs but that 1961 pounds may be based on the load range of the stock tires, I had a 10 1/2' slide in for years but never weighed the rig. Always ran range E tires.

    Coast Guard platr

900# is the limit of people. Since they consider each person to be 150# the plate is saying 6 persons. (confused yet). Often the plate will be stamped "6 persons or 900 pounds) What they mean is no more than 6 souls or a total weight of of not more than 900 pounds of people. 1460# is the...

Get a sailboat they said. Much simpler than trouble shooting today's outboards.

    Bimini install measurements?

Last one I installed I temporary installed fittings on a couple of scrap 1x3's that I clamped on the gunnels. Spent some time sliding them back and forth and changing the spacing of the fittings till I was happy with it.
