    Gimbal bearing/bellows?

I would say this is jumping to conclusions without knowing all the particulars of the boat. No reason to be drilling holes in a transom without other investigation first.

If you're towing with a Jeep or Dodge/Ram with the Chrysler 545RFE and it won't go into gear....try this first......

How often do you change your transmission fluid? I change mine in my vehicles every 30K. Every other change, I change the filter. Whoever did the last change used sealant vs a gasket? Super important to use a torque wrench on Transmission pan so you don't warp it.

    Trailer surge brakes

Just replace the surge brake actuator. Atwood isn't made any more so you won't be finding parts now or in the future. Good luck rebuilding a trailer master cylinder. Even auto master cylinders are hit and miss rebuilding and they don't have close to the corrosion issues that boat trailer master...

2006 Q6 tahoe Trailer brakes replacement parts?

Hopefully Dexter helps Tiedown with their quality issues. I have a pontoon trailer with Tiedown. Surge brake actuator failed after a few years followed by the wheel cylinders. This is on a trailer putting a boat in once a year in fresh water. I put Tiedown disc brakes on a trailer and the...

2006 Q6 tahoe Trailer brakes replacement parts?

TieDown and dexter were two separate companies until Dexter bought TieDown. That being said, you can still buy either type and I would never buy the TieDown version. Buy the Dexter...way higher quality than the TieDown version.

    2022 NFL/NCAAF News and Nonsense

Hopefully, I am still doing 100 mile bike rides when I turn 72. A friend of mine, who is older than that, rides 250 miles a week.

    Grease on rims

The EZ-lube system, which I call LAZ-lube, is no excuse for properly maintaining your bearings by pulling every year or every other year. Using the zerk to push grease through is not letting you inspect your bearings or brakes.

    Hvac / thermostat question

Awesome...I installed a Nest for someone years ago and it didn't have that feature. I installed another Nest for a friend last year but he doesn't have 2 stages. They have done a really good job with their setup.

    Hvac / thermostat question

Does your Nest support 2 stages of heating and 2 stages of cooling?

You need another wire connected to the C on your HVAC board.

    Gimbal bearing/bellows?

I have a Cobalt and it has absolutely ZERO wood in the transom. Have no idea what boat the OP has so who knows with his.

    Oil level too high?

Well...that doesn't apply here since the drain plug is replaced by a banjo bolt and a dipstick tube. You are sucking the oil out of the pan drain hole.

    Oil level too high?

I totally disagree. The oil dipstick actually is connected to the pan drain hole on a Volvo Penta. Out of curiosity, how do you come up with this 1/2 qt number?
  15. bruceb58

    Oil level too high?

Volvo Penta already basically has that. The dipstick tube screws into the drain hole of the pan. You attach a pump to the threaded garden hose fitting at the top of the dipstick tube and you suck all the oil out the bottom of the pan.

    Grease on rims

Amazing how much cracking you have for a 4 1/2 year old tire.

    Grease on rims

More than likely just grease from the cap or that rubber stopper...definitely not the nuts. When was the last time you pulled the drums and inspected your brakes and bearings? And holy crap..does that date code really say 1290?
