Need GPS/Fish Finder Recommendations For New Boat

Just casual fishing. I'm not good enough for tournaments. Lol. I've been browsing Craigslist and Marketplace for any good used ones. But also was just looking at Humminbird Helix 7 chirp on Amazon. Any thoughts on that fishfinder?

Need GPS/Fish Finder Recommendations For New Boat

Ok. What added features will a higher priced unit provide that I can't get for around $500 that make it worth the added price? What price range will get me something decent without breaking the bank? Can I get a quality gps/fish finder for under $1k?

Need GPS/Fish Finder Recommendations For New Boat

I recently purchased a 21' Angler Bowrider and I am looking for recommendations for a GPS & Fish Finder for it. I will be using the boat in both fresh and salt water. Ideally I would like the price to be $500 or less. What make/model do you recommend? Thanks.

    Best solvent to soak parts

Damn! Someone borrowed my dremel and never returned it so I'm stuck scrubbing my hand. I almost bought a new one until I saw it costs $68.

    Best solvent to soak parts

My thermostat cover on my 79 Evinrude 70hp looks more gunked up than a grease trap at a McDonald's. What's the best stuff to soak and clean thing? I'm going to clean the perimeter with a razor and wire brush so I get a good gasket seal but I don't know the best way to tackle the inside.

    Missing Thermostat

I ordered a replacement thermostat and gasket so I will be installing it asap. The boat is not in the water. It's in my yard with the hose and muffs hooked up. A little background on the boat. Shortly after I bought it the driveshaft broke in half. It looked fairly rusty and had some pitting so...

    Missing Thermostat

In the process of troubleshooting why my 1979 Evinrude 70 doesn't have water coming out of the telltale I pulled the thermostat cover and noticed that the thermostat was missing..and it has a lot of gunk in there. Any reason why someone removed the thermostat? Is that supposed to keep the engine...

    Broken Driveshaft

Unfortunately, I'm in the States not Canada. But I will start shopping around for a used lower unit. Thanks for your help!

    Broken Driveshaft

Oh boy! I am pretty handy at mechanical repairs but boats are a whole new beast for me. Anything in particular I should look for in the powerhead? I should have all necessary tools including snap ring pliers to do the disassembly. Though I am definitely worried about other damage inside the...

    Broken Driveshaft

I was running a newly purchased boat out of the water with the muffs and they slipped off. I noticed it within about 8 seconds but by then it was too late. I cut the engine but I could smell burning rubber so I knew I probably destroyed my impeller. However, it was much worse. When I dropped the...
