    2002 Bayliner 1952

If the lanyard is missing, there's usually a clip of sorts that holds the switch in the upright position. If you remove the clip, the switch goes down automatically. Without the clip the switch won't stay up. You can purchase a replacement lanyard for most of them.

Re-upholstery Job on Cruisers Yacht 338 Bowrider

That did it Ted: you're not reupholstering my boat. If that's as close as you can get: Sorry pal, substandard tolerances are not acceptable. 🙃 I get how it would bug you: it would me too. But WOW. The overall job on this is off the charts. Really impressive. I've enjoyed following both of...

    Turning Vintage and going Chrome

I had to make some big adjustments several years back due to some GI issues. They seem to have helped a lot in preserving the drive train and frame. Lotsa' squeakin' going on that didn't before, dents for sure and the paint has lost whatever luster it had. But mostly I go pretty well. I did...

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

It's really beautiful. I was surprised at how the desert impressed me. My oldest and her husband just drove Route 66 (mostly) out to California last year: she got the same kinda' stuff.

    Miserable Midwest Spring

Spring sprung this past weekend in Tennessee ... or I should say that we managed to spring into Spring. Been warm enough for a couple weeks, but rainy. In about three weeks, I'll probably bellyaching about how hot it is.

Scissor jack underneath the engine is another way to do that. if you ever have to replace the belt, generally you'll need to remove the engine mount again.

    Random

One of my favorite stories to tell right now is that coming down the stairs a few months ago, I heard one of 'em creak. The staircase hadn't been creaking, so I noticed it and wanted to figure out which step it was. I wind up going up and down the staircase about three times; not able to figure...

Identifying old SS OMC prop size

No worries: I actually thought I was reading in the OMC forum as opposed to props anyway ... so who's confused ? :D I had a couple of props for my old Sterndrive that weren't marked well (one wasn't at all). There aren't any numbers inside the hub area at all? I'm pretty sure there...

Identifying old SS OMC prop size

Do you mean outboards? I don't think splines matter much on the Stringers through '77. I thought those all used a pin and cotter key.

    Miserable Midwest Spring

^^^ Acutally; last month - and I wish I could have gotten a picture to capture the funny moment - I was shoveling remnant spring snow (we typically have one last drop from Ole' Man Winter in early spring here) while one of my neighbors was mowing his lawn. Admiral and I got quite the crack up...
