    Lake temp

Also keep in mind that currents can make the surface one temp and just a couple feet below can be a drastic change in temp. For swimming you might be better off with a hand unit, so you can check the temp about 5' below the surface. Every type of built-in temp gage is only gonna give you a...

    Leaking fuel tank

Looks like the kits I used to buy years back. There have been a couple occasions where I needed more than one gasket under the fuel outlet.

    Leaking fuel tank

I always unplug the fuel line from the motor when done. If there is a leak, I want to see/ smell the fuel so I can fix the issue. Leaving a fuel line plugged in to the motor can cause issues, if fuel hose has any pressure built up.

    Leaking fuel tank

Repaired a couple of those back in my younger days. There are O ring kits where a seal was pryed out in the back and new O rings were replaced and the seal was tapped back in to seal the plunger. If leaking from under the unit, then your gasket was damaged from install or the surface had some...

benefits of side bunks..... are there really any?

If you are loading and unloading in a protected area, they may not be needed. Many of us have stiff currents and wind to deal with, so good side guides are a must. If your lucky enough to have a protected launch, be glad, very glad !! Whether hand or drive on, I can load with guides and be...

    Covering Built-in Fuel Tank?

With all the concern about water intrusion, perhaps keeping the boat out of the weather might be the way to go. My 1992 still has the original 1/2" plywood cover, covered with carpet, still solid with no rot. My boat stays covered when not in use, only water is a little spray on ocassion and a...

    100hp falters

Your 100 hp only has a 5/16" fuel line ? My 40 hp has a 3/8" fuel line.... Should have an inspection hatch for the built-in fuel tank where the connections are. Open that up and pull the cover where the fuel line connects and check the pickup tube. Also look for white snot around the pickup...

    Trailer Rollers

On many occasions the different widths also mean different diameters. I have used bow roller-stops as keel rollers before. All depends on my needs.

    Trailer Rollers

I stopped using the black rubber rollers years back, they never lasted me more than a couple years. I have all the yellow poly rollers, never had one fail in all my years using them. Yep, more expensive, but once and done or you will be replacing them often. Wobble rollers typically last...

    New guy, floor repair questions

Be rest assured that your boat has O value in it's present condition. Even after you do a thorough overhaul, it still won't sell for anywhere near that much ! The real truth is you just paid someone to get rid of their junk....no offense meant here, just getting you to see what your in for...
