    Bilge pump fuse shorted

Disconnect the pump and see if the fuse blows...probably won't....as already mentioned those pumps don't last forever and need replaced every few years if they get used. My boat has never had a leak so after 32 years the bilge pump still works great.

Electric boat maker shutters plant in WV

When I said they have their place, they do. Many small inland lakes are electric only so folks have no choice. Numerous small electric powered pontoon boats and other electric watercraft for these select areas. As far as a larger cruiser or ski boat, NO way is electric power is ready !!

    1977 35 hp not pumping

Can't trust a water hose and muffs. Pressure from the hose could easily over ride a bad impeller and give you a false reading.

Electric boats, let me electric cars have there place in society. The problem is those special places are so few and far in between there is no profit. The gov't offered numerous grants for EV and battery developement, but once those funds dried up, no profit to keep them going ! Same with...

N W S and NOAA post Hazardous Weather Conditions. When my area is having normal weather. Why ?

Absolutely, mother earth has gone thru these cycles numerous times in the past 100K years. What makes today worse is that man has paved so much of the land with heat grabbing asphault, and running A/C units that pump even more heat into the atmosphere....look back 50 years ago, the avg big city...

N W S and NOAA post Hazardous Weather Conditions. When my area is having normal weather. Why ?

One of the problems in my area, is how large an area is being covered by the forecast. Years back the forecast covered an area 50 miles by 50 miles but today that forecast covers an area over 200 miles by 200 mikes and in many cases even further. Totally different weather from one side to...

Tech has been acting up a little, but yesterday was really weird. As I have stated before I am a retired toolmaker, not an electrician, but do have a very basic understanding. I have a 1992 Merchant classic 40 up two stroke in like new condition. As I was running on the lake the tech would...

benefits of side bunks..... are there really any?

As I stated earlier, most folks don't know the proper way to power load ! If they did, far more ramps would allow it. I guess when you have 250-300 hp or more, you just gotta show it off !!

    Engine Performance

Pump your tank as empty as you can get it and sample the gas. At the end of each season, I pump my tank out then fill with fresh gas and a stabilizer so it is ready in the spring with no crude or water to start the season.

benefits of side bunks..... are there really any?

Many folks don't know how to do it properly. The engine needs to be tilted up so the prop wash doesn't wash away the end of the ramp and create a drop off. Some places just don't allow it. At age 74 and being by myself most if the time I need to powerload, so I use ramps that allow it. In my...

    1975 Mercury 7.5 HP Service/Shop Manual?

Check Ebay, I have found a number of older factory service manuals on there. Check with older marine service shops, ones that have been around for a long time, they might have some old copies.
