Boat with paint cracks and hull damage

Keep in mind, your insurance won't cover you in case of an accident. If someone is injured or killed you have negligence because your boat did not follow industry safety standards. Looks like a fun project, just don't get around anyone else when your operating it !

Need GPS/Fish Finder Recommendations For New Boat

Nice used ones typically pop up at at the end of the season. My Lawrence unit was a 2013 model and my MinnKota powerdrive was the same year. Like new units, bought them in 2020 for about 1/3 the cost of new today. More bells and whistles than I will ever use !

Pressure treated plywood in aluminum boat

My experience with the newer treated plywood ( within past 20 plus years) is that good exterior grade will last just as long or longer than pressure treated if sealed up well. Great example of why a kicker motor is better for trolling. Long slow periods of running the big motor typically causes issues down the road.

Why I do not have new boats.

Unfortunately I know way to many people that have bought new and still had numerous issues. I can say that my many used purchases have had very few problems over the many years I have boated. No way could I justify the cost of a new outfit when compared to what I have saved buying used. I am...

Why I do not have new boats.

Yep....I have yet to see a new boat that can do more than my 1992...for the minimal savings in fuel....don't think I would live long enough to make up the difference.
