    Fuel filter question

Adding an inline filter of the proper size won't hurt a thing, adding numerous filters could cause a flow issue on an EFI system.

    New guy, floor repair questions

Or, an aluminum hull boat that has no rotted wood with the exception of a transom board that is easy to replace. Aluminum doesn't rot, look around at the aluminum boats still around from the 60's and 70's and before and much easier/ cheaper to rebuild and fix.

    3ohp mercury tilt problem

First step would be to go thru and check all electrical connections....clean and tighten. A tiny amount of corrosion can cause problems.

    New guy, floor repair questions

Hull structure is rotted and will fail, that is the reason behind the "wear your life jacket" comment. It will cost thousands to fix up your boat even doing all the work yourself. Best bet is to scrap it and find an aluminum hull that you can fix up.

Going from 25 hp to 35 hp

Yep....your pushing some weight there, with the right prop it should plane but gonna slow it down. Another 10 to won't make a big difference in performance, but might be enough to plane if you have the right prop.

    Badly weathered engine cover

Clean it with a strong cleaner first, then see how faded it is. If not bad then a good auto polish should work. Watch the decals, they can be peeled right off with certain cleaners and polishes. If really bad, peel off the decals, sand and repaint. New decals are availiable. I just use a...

Mariner 30 hp oil injection delete

Some folks premix their fuel for a while until they see the oil going down in the reservoir. It will make a heavy oil mix but you won't hurt anything. Some folks premix at 100 or 75 to one , while they are watching for the oil in the reservoir to drop so the oil mix is not so heavy.

Mariner 30 hp oil injection delete

Test it out and make sure it is working as the motor is new to you. I always look for a puff of smoke on initial startup for the first minute or two, after that you hardly notice any. Keep a close eye on your oil tank to be sure it is working. I fill my oil tank each time I fill my 18 gallon...
