    Agreed about appliances et al. We have an 80s Kenmore fridge and a 70s Hobart dishwasher that I refuse to get rid of. A good friend redid his house a few years back and has all modern appliances and they all are junk.

    I still think if you’d consider used it’s hard to go wrong with the last few years of a Toyota Tundra 5.7. Right now I’m debating getting a used 4Runner vs a Grand Cherokee or Wrangler…. Or, find the last of the Ram 1500s with the Hemi but no Etorque.

    The manifolds & elbows can be new but the manifold to elbow gasket can still leak water. I’m not sure why yours hold air pressure but may be leaking water. Did you check for flatness with a mechanics straight edge & feeler gauges before installing? Some need to be dressed with a mill bastard...

    Diesel wouldn't have to run continuously, think of how regular gas/electric hybrids work. Diesel is more efficient in terms of fuel use than gas engines by a lot.
