    Anything is possible, but being at 4k rpm it might be the ECM cutting back power from a knock or something else

    ^^^Agree Wouldn't be the first time someone forgot to fill the bottle, or "more" importantly the drive was not filled correctly, or you have a leak With drive all the way down on a trailer, remove the upper vent screw, you should see greenish color gear lube come out.

    Would need to remove the carb fuel line and place a tee fitting there. Can make one froma plastic or brass tee and some rubber fuel line and clamps. Pressure should be 4 to 6 psi from idle thru WOT

    To rule out fuel, need to put a gauge teed online. If it's not fuel then something is getting hot

    Don't see it being the coupler, but might be gimbal or drive Does this mean the drive has not been off in a while?Hope not, it needs to be pulled every year or max every 3 and everything checked out, gear lube changed

    Yes, like taking off with a manual transmission in high gear Another thing that can cause issues is the hull, is it water logged (as in heavier then it should be)

    Maybe in part, but Did boat ever run good with old motor at speed with 17P prop? Meaning could reach WOT rpm and all If answer is yes, then the problem is probably your new motor If answer is no, then could very well be the drive Now if it's neither yes or no, then we need more info

    You should have 1.5 to 1 maybe. Motor turns 1.5 for every time the prop turns once

    No way the ratio should be that high. That means the prop is turning faster then the motor, and it should be the other way around

    Agree with JASinII with cross supports Read up on the epoxy resin as to cure times and when recoating can be done. I really like epoxy because it's stronger, but the issue is applying additional coats must be done within a given time frame. If it gets to far past that (24 or so hours) some need...

    Going from 3B-17P to 3B-19P will change rpm 200-300. Changing to 4B prop that is like 17P to 21P Going to need someone better then me to wonder what changing the compression and exhaust stroke for 6 of the 8 cylinders will or will not do to power
