Blue Sea Add A Battery query

Been running a ACR since 2015. Has never cause any issues Not all too concerned with 0.015 Ah drain. Comes out to 10 Ah per month Have 14 times that in capacity in each battery. Confirmed or speculative? Easy enough to alternate monitoring of sense lines with a common sensor

Tahoe 1950 Deckboat - fish finder overheat

Guessing its the power supply or LCD display given that most electronic components are rated to 140F. Lots of PS and most LCD displays are only rated to 122F. A LED display gets you up to 140F with the rest of the components You need to move the unit to the shade to eliminate the source of...

    2024 PartyBarge 16 modifications

It’s a proprietary CAN based protocol. Easier to switch over to NMEA 2000 to utilize the large variety of plug and play displays and components available. Can interface to most fish finders, chartplotter etc. to display engine data on the screen

recommendations for a little starting battery or should I run long wires?

In this day and age there is no reason to use a full size FLA battery to power a 25 HP, 16’ John boat. You have no problem powering the boat with a U1 size, AGM, SLA battery. The U1 is 8” x 5” x 6” weighs less than #20. Rated 200cca, 35 AH. Can be mounted anywhere. Even upside down

EZ lube hubs and cold water

Looked that them when I bought a new trailer last spring. 40+ years of bearing and seal design experience in a heavy industry. Liked the off the shelf design, but service restrictions really turned me off. 20+ years of experience with EZ lube hubs. Installed wear sleeves and replaced the...

Help with my vessel view please!

The “little digital device” is the Smartcraft display to interface with the motor. Everything you want should be available on that display unless something is wrong with the interface.

Why is my System Check alarm sounding?

Might want to check your voltage regulator Erratic tach readings and weird voltage surges are typical failures of a voltage regulator on the way

Need with what Battery is needed

Don't know about that…….stereos draw huge amounts of current. Don't see any “fishing” boats with wake towers and high powered stereos..;) May not be typical of a small boat owner, but boats on our waters typically run a full compliment of navigation equipment and accessories as I do. Anyhow...

Need with what Battery is needed

Either you have taken things out of context to prove self right or you have a reading comprehension problem. The post below was to advise the OP that rated output of the charging system is per hour of run time. Where exactly does it say anything about me going to sand bars?

Could this ignition coil cause any damage?

Don't confuse a ignition type “capacitor discharge” with an aftermarket manufacturer of ignition components, CDI Electronics

Need with what Battery is needed

I boat to fish…. have absolutely no interest in any “sand bars” except the ones they call the OBX. Those I fish from a beach buggy…lol Inshore/ Offshore. 12 hour days offshore, 6-8 hour days inshore. Most days are 100% run time. Even then, I typical run a deficit at the end of the day. No...

Need with what Battery is needed

I use close to that in an hour between fish finder, (20W) chart recorder (20W), 100W RMS stereo (480W), VHF (24W) and radar (80W) 624W/12V = 52 amp per hour just in electronics. Does not included auto-pilot, phone chargers, lighting, bilge pumps, wash down pump or winch How many amps do you...

Need with what Battery is needed

That is 40 amps per hour of run time. Running 15 minutes out to the sand bar, burn up 80 amps of power, then running 10 minutes back to the marina isn’t going to cut it

Need with what Battery is needed

You can install an ACR that will charge both batteries from your motor while running. https://www.bluesea.com/products/7650/Add-A-Battery_Kit_-_120A Problem being, most don’t run the motor long enough to fully recharge the primary battery, let alone the house battery.

Need with what Battery is needed

Then run one starting battery and one deep cycle battery. Bear in mind that you still need to charge them on a regular basis. Most don’t put enough run time on a boat to fully charge them after use.

Need with what Battery is needed

For redundancy, you want both batteries to be able to start the boat on their own. Beyond that, battery type and size would be dependent on how you want to use the two batteries

Partsvu - are they legit and OK to buy from or?

Appears to be a “dealer” for a large marine parts conglomerate. May be cheaper because they advertise $15.99 flat rate shipping https://www.onewatermarine.com/portfolio-1

    Fuel dripping from carbs...

Using the primer bulb builds more pressure than the fuel pump. Either adjust or replace the needle and float in the offending carb
