The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
I have a 1966 40 hp Johnson that I can't get running. I checked it for spark and there was none. I changed the coils and cutout switch. I also tried different plugs and different spark plug wires to no avail. Everything has been changed except the points and condensors. Could it possibly be bad...
I have a 1956 Johnson 10HP and the cyl pressure is a little low. The motor looks great. I have rebuilt motors before but being as old as it is I'm wondering if I can get the parts. I will be needing rings, bearings, gaskets etc. Is it possible to do this or should I stop before I waste my time?
I have an old 1956 Johnson 10 HP and would like to know what is the normal PSI per cyl. Most books say within 15 lbs of each other and I have that. What is the norm 100 lbs 50 lbs?
I need to know if gel coat can be applied with a roller. I know it is usually sprayed on but I am told it is very difficult to do. Has anyone ever rolled this stuff on? How much sanding is required if you do apply it with anything but spraying?
I have an old 10 HP Johnson in the cellar and was wondering what year it was manufactured. It is a red color with white trim. Can I find out by using the serial# or the model# I think it might be a 1958 but not sure.
After installing a new impeller in my water pump on my outboard, I can't get it to shift. I have a 1975 65 HP mercury. It went back together fine bolted up but does not shift. If I spin the prop it will only click. Let me know what the deal is, thanks.
