    Ercoa Pontoon 1987 Manual

I just purchased a Tri-Hexatoon 1998 23' Flagship. Those Hexatoons cut through the water like a knife! Great performance! I don't have a manual. It says "Flagship" on the rear side panel. I did a lot of looking for info on the internet for the "Eroca" hexatoon pontoon boat. I saw some sites...

3.0 Mercrusier shorted out ground wire

I learn the hard way sometimes. Once again THANK YOU to all for the great information! I was a sad guy yesterday, thinking that I had damaged my engine. I'm a smarter and happier boat owner this morning!

3.0 Mercrusier shorted out ground wire

It was the positive cable that I removed from my accessory battery that touched the ground cable from that battery that I had already removed.

3.0 Mercrusier shorted out ground wire

I'm learning good stuff! I don't keep the boat moored in water. I never heard of or do I see a Mercathode anywhere around the engine.

3.0 Mercrusier shorted out ground wire

Thanks for responding. Are you saying that it is a bonding wire that melted? I know nothing about what a bonding wire does. As of now, that's the only thing I see that melted. I visually saw the wire melt, red hot, there was a lot of smoke. The wire melted in the middle of the wire. I can see...

3.0 Mercrusier shorted out ground wire

I was replacing my (2) batteries and accidently shorted out, melted, the ground wire from the engine block to the rear wall of my engine compartment. It's in a real tight area to replace the wire. Can I install a new ground wire from my engine block in an area that's easier to reach?

    Pontoon Hardtop

I like your (2) halves for the roof. You're correct on the air gap for insulation value. Our sun in the summer is brutal. (1") of closed cell will stop the radiation of heat and it doesn't weigh much. I will definitely will be running (12V) electrical wire in the roof area. I used to hunt Huns...

Viet Nam 70-71 Thailand 72 OV-10 was kick ass in Nam. Great plane. There were T-38 trainers in Nam. We respected all of the pilots. They were all hero's to us. Flight line maintenance was an incredible system. I've always missed that camaraderie and the fantastic team work.

I was a crew chief. Did (4) years. You can tell by the planes how long ago that was.

Is that an Air Force "Star" I see on the side of the boat?

Thanks for the information. It's been a big help. Re-drawing my plans :) Looking forward to posting the pictures of my top.

    Pontoon Hardtop

Thank You! Thank You! Your post has helped so much! I've had many ideas about my hard top design and you have to think and re-think all of them to make sure you've got the one that's going to work. I will definitely be re-thinking my design and probably be using some of your design on my top. Do...

An insulated roof will keep the metal roof from radiating the heat down. I'll be using white colored roof sheeting to reflect the rays. Very good point on the vibration! I'll add that to the todo list. There are many 105+ degree days on the lake. You can't get low enough in the boat when the...

    Pontoon Hardtop

I've changed my mind. I'm going to make it a permanently up hard top. I'm using (1") dia. aluminum tubes on the roof (low gable). Probably (2') o.c. trusses. I'll have small gussets at all hinged points (posts to roof). I too will be skinning with light weight RV skin, roof and ceiling. I'm...

Your comment is interesting about leaving it up, not to be lowered. I'm looking at that. Thanks

Somewhat. It's hot when the fishing is good. I'll insulate the top, (1") closed cell, with canvas sides.
