    100 psi on that engine sounds Low. I would redo the Compression Test with a different Gauge. Don't start sanding the Reeds, as that will result in you needing to find Replacements.     If you have the Serial# of the Engine, you can go on Ebay, and search for Manuals for Mercury 50hp . Mercury Manuals will have the Range of the Serial #s covered in that Manual on the Cover.
