    Broken Skeg Tip...Repairable?

any decent TIG welder can fix this. Just be sure he knows prop seals will melt if too hot. TIG will get hot.

    Tachometer bouncing

Have friend exercise electrical connections and see if tack bounces, while you are at helm. Not real sure about EST, but I'd make sure coil wire is connected and tight and good ground. Wires get corrosion.

    Freshwater Boat to Saltwater

Living in NW Florida since 1959 and having owner 1 OMC and 3 MC I/Os and with countless friends who owned I/Os, we learned not to store them wet in salt water. Pay extra for a lift or trailer them. Maybe this area is cursed, or paints and anodes have improved dramatically. However, I seldom see...

    Exhaust manifolds, time to replace?

It must be our hot weather added to the salt that causes our iron products to rot through sooner than most. We seldom winterize in NW Florida. It is always HOT or warm! We might get 5 years out of salt water cooled risers, with good flushing. Manifolds seem to last a couple of years longer. I...

    Exhaust manifolds, time to replace?

If Saltwater used and flushed with fresh water after every TRIP HERE IN NW Florida, I'd replace risers for sure. We didn't have much luck past 5 years. Now, wonder what the inside of your block looks like. Thin heads are even worse. Many Floridians have gone OBs or antifreeze cooled MCs. Is it...

2000 Sea Ray 190 CC Hull Soft Spot

I owned a 1995 Proline that had a lot of foam in the bow area that had been saturated with water. Yet, the hull was "hammer" solid. Transom not so much... The bow cavity was full of water. I drilled limber holes and watched water come out daily all winter long. A shop vac accelerated water...

2000 Sea Ray 190 CC Hull Soft Spot

I've owned two SRs. Balsa decks and foam inside cavities in bow and under decks. This reduces the need for additional stingers, but not all. I repaired BOTH SRs. Fuel is possible. So, know your boat. Drill holes inside NOT OUTSIDE. Limber holes are for inside. Good luck.

2000 Sea Ray 190 CC Hull Soft Spot

Older SRs were cored, meaning lots of expanding foam to strengthen areas and reduce weight, which will eventually suck up water. That's a SR. I've owned two. You might be able to drill a limber hole inside to see if water drains out. Use shop vac. to suck ot water. However, I suspect access...

Pull risers and inspect and acetone test if passages appear clear of crap. You will have to block off some water passages for test.
