Have u check timing with light to determine if it advances and reduces as RPMs increase of decrease. Unless u pulled distributor, I doubt it has changed. However, this test will at least rule out one more problem.
and they make a lot of money replacing motors. Water over damn now, but owner should have used contractor bag or wrap with tarp, if he left with them. If they left outside, that would have been a dead give a way.
I have been down this slippery slope before with an old 30' Penn Yann. No decent carrier wanted to insure unless I spent a grand back in the early 80s for a complete survey. That mean hauling out and inspecting and full transmission and motor(s) inspection. No stone left unturned. I feel that if...
Thanks for your help!!!!!!! As soon as I learn something, I will msg you!!!!!! Unfortunately, I had a knee replaced and it is difficult to climb into boat. I will eventually. I want to fish this money hole this year. Again......THANKS!!!
It has been a while` since examining boat, but if my memory serves correctly, they are 2 speed. I have been fighting illness, but I may be able to pull mfg name off wiper motors this week. THX!
How to make sure the female of the arm will fit male wiper head? My best guess is 9/16" motor stud. I have found a couple of ss arms from ventage Chevy's but couldn't get them to fit tight on motor studs. I may have to weld set screw on these arms and paint underneath spring to minimize rusting...
I have examined many Attwood wipers (ONLINE) but few of the clerks could tell me if they would fit my specific needs. I'll send email to parent company and see if they can help!
THANKS!!!!
I have looked aimlessly to find a windshield wiper pair (rubber and metal arm) to fit my ventage 1986. Wiper motors and studs are great as to the rest of the electrical. Any suggestions?
fine motor but why was moved from boat or maybe removed from truck in lieu of putting into boat. Run compression and oil checks to be sure. Keep in mind if your boat is carbureted, it is more laborious installing an EFI
depending on condition of wooden transom and /or stringers, you may have flexing ROT. EASY TO test with drill and 3/8" drill bit. If crap or water comes out, you will be pissing away good money patching crap.
get a welding shop to build a steel A frame. You will need it AGAIN and can sleep well at night. Make sure wide enough to drive out boat. I lowered my 2 v8s into cockpit areal and covered but I had room.
saltwater boat? replace motors and cooling risers and manifolds, now. Sound the transom for rot. If rot, expect a lot of money out of pocket, even if you can do work yourself. Trust me!
