Base timing on TB5 350 V8 Carbureted with knock Sensor???

My Selock manual is as useless as tits on a frog. I timed these motors years ago but have forgot which wires to disconnect at distributor. I did some motor work and have to reset timing. I believe I must disconnect knock sensor, but my old memory keeps telling me that I need to disconnect...

    Trim Limit and Sender Help

I've seen boaters drill holes just above transom assemby to push wires in and connect to wiring harness. Use 5200 to seal wires going through transom. It may look like crap to others, but it works and easy to replace wires/senders, if needed later on

    Trim Limit and Sender Help

If ripped out, I suspect you will have to remove OD and install new sender/switches. That will cause you to curse a LOT. A nightmare to access...

    Terribly stoopid question

My MC's opposite rotation is in OD, not motor. However, my MC manual displays 350 Chevy motor with same firing order but #1 is where #6 is located. I don't know why MC did this unless distributor body bumped up against something if it were located where GM says it is supposed to be. My Chevy...

Is this trim end cap usable?

I rebuilt 4 of mine. Similar corrosion as yours. I had to replace one cap at about 50 bucks. Only because I had to heat and beat it out of ram tube. I made my own spanner wrench after seeing what MC wanted for a new one. . If my memory is correct, the scrapper and seals were inside of cap and...

    Priming rebuilt carb

I have always made sure fuel tank has gas and fuel/water separator is full of GAS. This helps fuel pump prime lines, carburetor bowl, etc. Then, I would squirt some gas into carb and have buddy crank engine. Have large rag or fire extinguisher nearby incase carb leaks or motor backfires.

    Tilt / Trim problems :(

For humor, manually jump pump at solenoid. Does system have an OD limiter switch? That old of boat, you may have to replace both sender and limit switch. I have replaced several solenoids over the years. I learned to cover them with some sort of waterproof fabric. Salt water is worse than fresh...
