Guys im trying to find the psi that a regulator operates in VP 5.0gi PEFS. i am trying to find the gm or aftermarket equivalent but want to make sure i get the right pressure. Factory is locked in so no messing with it. I am hunting down deceleration issues. Thanks

I assume i need at 29 psi regulator for my GI. Do you know of any cross match to automotive. Engine decels upon throttle. OEM is discontinued.

See here. But you need to test your fuel pressure at idle and under power before you start replacing parts. Pump assembly is available part No. 23306461

may want to look for parts direct from the manufacturer.

Volvo bought fuel pumps direct from Carter/airtex, and put them in a volvo only housing

regarding the pressure regulator, pull it and check for paint clogging

It was taken apart after i changed the fuel pumps. I replaced the diaphram and the gaskets. The spring i did feel mushy. Due to the questionability of the cleaning that was done to the injectors i have to take apart again. Injectors where found to be leaking. Now i have to take apart and send them out to be flow matched and cleaned. I ordered a 30psi spring to see if it helps with decel. Bellow is a pic of low and high of new pump. Pressure is constant at idle and at higher rpms. Due to bigger issues now present such as a bent crankshaft this has taken a back seat untill new crankshaft is installed.

I would take this time to build a 383 if you have to pull the motor and replace rotating assemblies

Can the regulator be calibrated or is it recomended to replace the internal spring? The reason is i got a hold of 30psi spring and noticed the torx bolt on the regulator sunk all the way in. I did read somewhere that it is permanent calibration. Injectors are currently getting tested, cleaned and matched and since i had the unit apart might as well replace the spring.

have you looked at the SMP pressure regulators used by GM? (Standard Motor Products)

GM 17113079 1994-1995 fullsize van/ 1 ton truck 454 30 PSI regulator
Delco 2172900
AIRTEX Part # 3G1097
BWD 24036
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # PR113

if you just want a rebuild. Walker 2551025

you will need to have a fuel gauge to adjust the setting.

here is a site you may be interested in. https://www.dynamicefi.com/TBI_Fueling.php

Scott, i got the injectors back from a 2nd testing facility and they passed flow and are matched. If the spring doesn't solve my hesitation/deceleration and engine dying from 1000 to 2000 rpms but not above 2000rpms im sure it will lead to the ECM. Everything else either is new or checks out in working order.
