Splitting NMEA 0183 output from GPS or use NMEA 2000 gateway?

I've got a 2002 Opti 225. It's got a fairly early Smartcraft loom on it with an SC1000 speedo and revcounter, and no speed paddlewheel so the speedo doesn't work. I'm wiring everything up at the moment. I've currently got an HDS7 gen 2 connected to a Standard Horizon GX1600E using the TX and RX...

What loom should I have for my 225 Opti Smartcraft gauges?

Anyone got any idea what wiring loom should I have for my 2002 225 Opti SC1000 Smartcraft gauges?IThe original wiring was a complete mess and all that's identifiable is part numbers 84-859314 and 84-859315. It appears to plug into a 5 pin semi-circular rubber plug into the main wiring harness...

    Diagnostic software/leads for a 225 Optimax?

Hi guys, long time no see. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the diagnostic software and leads (or a lead diagramme so I can make my own) for an Optimax 225? Just got a new boat and I'd like to be able to read the ECU with the laptop.

    Tohatsu/Mercury 3.5hp main jet size?

Hi all, I've got a 1981 2.2 Mercury here and as far as I can make out it's exactly the same powerhead as the Tohatsu/Nissan 3.5 hp apart from a different mainjet size and a restrictor in the carb throat. I've removed the restrictor and readjusted it so the throttle is opening fully...

    Beware-active phone and/or Ebay scam.

I've just had a really odd international phone call on my mobile. The phone number calling was +17738671399 It rang, I answered and an automated voice said 'this is Ebay, if you are expecting this call press 6'. I hung up. It rang back 10 seconds later.I answered and an automated voice said...

    How come?

How come you guys seem to be so slow on the uptake of RIBs? They are everywhere over here and seem to be built far better too.

    Ebay new feedbck policies

What do people think of the new 'seller can't leave a negative' policy? I for one won't be selling on there again. Too easy to be blackmailed.

    Exporting outboards to England

Hi guys I'm back! :D I'm just about to (hopefully) upgrade to a bigger RIB. The outboard prices here in the UK are horrendous so I'm looking at the idea of importing a 2nd hand 90-115hp 21" shaft motor that's a current model here from your side of the pond. (must weigh less than 370lbs)...

Why not use Motorcycle 2-stroke oil in an outboard?

Right, I have a fair idea why not but I've been asked the question and can't provide a definitive answer. Does anyone have a definitive answer apart from the biodegradable side of it-for both premix and mixing systems?

WHat fuel connectors fit 94 mariner 50?

Do anything other than merc/mariner fuel connectors fit? It's the later non-bayonet type. I'm just about to fit a water trap on my transom and need to buy a male connector but would rather ebay one than drive 35 miles to the chandlers. Cheers guys.
