My 60 hp idles but dies when shifting to forward. I rebuilt the carbs, new fuel hoses, tried aux fuel tank all with no help. Suspect a leak somewhere.
Need some tips.
I'm looking for the year of manufacture on my 60 hp evinrude. I was told by the previous owner that he thinks it's a 1992 model. The only numbers found are on the transom brackets are: 185707 and 28EM2.

My 1992 60 hp Evinrude motor won't idle. It will start and run for about 5 seconds and then shuts down. I have to operate the choke to keep it running. Also it will run at high speed but falls off after a few seconds. I can't shift to forward as it goes dead. I have rebuilt the carbs...
