I am looking at buying a new 2009 Trophy 2152 with a 190 HP Mercruiser.
Does anyone know how many Litres per hour this engine/boat set up will use.
How does this compare to a 150 HP Mercury Optimax?
Thanks for your help.

I have a 2052 with the same engine. I believe it to be fairly economical. My last three fishing trips totaled 37 gal. consumed. These were runs of 5 miles out and one of 10 miles with the engine running constantly. Total hours approx. 15

The 190 is very adequate power -- I can cruise at 25mph in a light chop -- that's fast enough for me -- I don't try to push it too hard.

You're not going to get anywhere near comparable mileage with the 850 pound car engine in there as compared with the 135/150/175 Opti's. Its not going to run as clean nor are you going to be able to troll slowly with it over time. I took my FF with the 135 Opti 70+ miles offshore a few days ago. We burned 48 gals running 22-25 knots at around 4K rpm's most of the time. SC 1000 read 7.5 gals per hour/ a little over 3 MPG. I'd go with Opti... again. I hope the real world numbers help.

I have a 96 2352 with a 4.3l lx v6 4bbl. at 3900 rpm cruise and 31 mph whith a cupped 14 by 17 mercruiser 3 blade ss prop. 11.6 gph. Source garmin gfs 10 fuel sensor. This boat is great on fuel!!!!! I can troll all day long only burning .2gph at 2.5 mph. I would like to see an opti match this combo for fuel econ, But I can't speak for them as I have never had the chance to own or operate one.

That all sounds very good, what do you think the top end speed is? Is it true that the fuel usage goes up astronomically when going flat out?

3.0 liter, 319 miles, 71 gal. burned chasing anything that looked like a boil. I cruise it at 3800 at 22 -23 mph. When it blows up I'll call vessel assist. 2005 2052. oh, yeh 40 gal. bait tank on motor well, 3 big guys and way to much stuff in the bow to take a nap.

That didn't tell anybody anything except you have a boat and it uses gas.
