Re: Are Trophy Boats Any Good?

I own a 19' Trophy and have fished on a 21' Trophy in the ocean for five years. Great boats, ride is nice, and a very safe boat to be in. They are hand laid so stress cracks are few if ever. They're a ***** to rig but a great boat to own. I sure do love mine.
No, they're not a Grady White but you aren't paying for a Grady either. For a mid range boat they're just fine. Extravagant tastes and long runs outside in the ocean may warrant the Grady or better. I personally believe on the days you really need a Grady, you shouldn't be outside (in the ocean). 12 years of working SAR on the Columbia River bar and Pacific ocean tells me even the CG boats made to operate in big water are too little for the bar and or oceans fury. Pick your day/environment carefully and be smart with whatever boat you own and operate.

Where do you plan to use yours and what experience level do you have?

The thumbnail photo looks nice... enjoy!
