Bought this 1987 Sun Runner 296 this past February. Has twin Volvo Penta 225s (rebuilts). No owner/user manual came with it so its trial and error for gauges, switches, etc. Looking for anyone that has a manual or a link to a site that has information. Otherwise pleased with the boat. Her name? She has a wine color stripe along the hull and interior color, so she is now named the Marilyn Merlot, Huntington Beach, CA.
I see no recent posts, so I am hopeful we can start up this blog if for no other reason, just to chat and share Sun Runner ideas, comments, etc.

I got a sun runner 230sb a few months ago. It was a 225e volvo penta but has 300 horse 350 And either a 270 or 275 outdrive. I remodeled the entire thing and did a serious Buff job. She is a beauty now and I get compliments everywhere we have taken it. Great boat only problem left is my shore power goes to my panel hot but thats it. So I need to fix that still. Other than that its been Really fun project. And no support at all for these boats sucks too

Anyone here have any literature, or links to some on 1979 models? Owners manual would be great. I believe mine is the 240sd based on some of the research I have done.

Hi i'm working on a 1986 Sun Runner 220sb 260hp 350 with 176 hours, changing out seats, wet sand and polish, etc.
I picked this beast up for $2800 ready for the water about a month ago to turn into a trolling machine for the wife and i to go out in the gulf on our tuna trips instead of paying the charters (it cost less for this boat than for 1 charter)

I have the 1986 Sun Runner 275, didn’t run when I got it, twin 190 mercs. Starboard runs, rebuilding port. The owners manual, and sterndrive installation/operation manual came with it, and are a great help with wiring and other details.
It looks to be all balsa core, and so I’m thinking it is probably light for its size.
I’ve only seen 1 other 275, for sale in New Jersey, I hope there are more out there.

About a month ago I bought a 1989 Sunrunner 292 Ultra, its in nice shape, but a bit faded, I'm working on that. I need a picture of the wiring diagram if someone has it in their manual. My manual looks like it was dipped in a cup of coffee. I cant wait to get this in the water in the next couple of weeks. !!!

I bought / semi_inherited a 1989 sunrunner 195CV. This boat was owned by a 99 year old who purchased it new in 1989, used it two seasons. Parked in carport for 27 years. I expressed interest to his son and purchased it for $2,000. It has 13 hours on it. Has a volvo aq131d 4 cylinder 2.3 liter with 275 outdrive. I put some oil in cylinders, on camshaft, replaced shifter cable and installed ew battery. Unfortunately, rats ate thru wiring and cuddy cabin cusions. Repaired wiring. Everything else inside is excellent vinyl seats/ carpet / etc. Exterior is perfect condition well. Looking forward to first cruise in two weeks.

Picked up a 1988 Sun Runner 195 cv with matching trailer for $1100 in early june. Had been sitting covered up for at least 2 years and would'nt start, anyway after another $1500 in gear and parts and my labor she is on the water running great. I have owned a SR before a runabout model 165v so I know the have great hull design for puget sound salmon fishing. I'll post pics later.

Just picked up a 1984 245, chev 350 v8, volvo penta 270. Don't know much about it other then that at this point, other then it needs alot of TLC. Anyone have interior or exterior pics of same or similar boat, would like to know what it should look like. As I'm not a fan of the previous owners styling chooses.

I'm the happy owner of a 1988 Sunrunner Weekender 235. I trade this boat for my labor just last year... I vacuumed, pour some gas on it and basic checking here and there... Days later I was enjoying my new boat.

A friend has a 29 foot Sunrunner he’s going to give me. I’ll bet it needs a lot of work. I’ll have to learn the Volvo Penta outdrive as I have Mercruiser.
