i stopped and took a couple pics for ya all, but after further review, i believe they are gonna get plenty hot when the sun shines, so i am thinking possibly covering them in carpet instead ( will contemplate on it for awhile) . the tops will be white vinyl, or the same as floor i believe. if you look at the top area closely , you can see the texture of that hammered paint ( i like it , as it covers some imperfections nicely) IMG_2615.JPGIMG_2616.JPG

Looks pretty good, I can't see where the holes were. I agree with the texture, I used the poly beads mixed in the paint with hardener which helped hide some stuff since i'm not much of a body and fender man.

finally got back to getting something done on the project, its been awhile and i really want to get my nautilex floor down in near future, and am leary on doing it. guess i am going to have to bite the bullet and as they say "just do it" i used marine tex to fill countersunk rivets and seams in deck and it went on nicely , and then spent a few hours sanding it all smooth. my only advice for those planning to go this route would be to pay better attention to applying it as thin as necessary as it was a bit of a pita to sand where i got it heavy , i used 80 grit paper, but that stuff sets up hard! Yeah I used a bondo spreader to smooth over the MT and remove any that was above deck level so I didn't have to sand anything. Have I mentioned I hate sanding?

exactly!! got er done, but plenty of elbow grease, and not what i expected from reading the box. as i stated, taking the time as h20 did to smooth during application will save a guy plenty of work later

Roll it out good and get away from it for at least the rest of the day until it cures.

That is good glue, make sure and get as even of a coat as you possibly can, I have used it for various things over the years, but it does get wacky if the temp is off, if you can stick to the temp range when applying it works and it holds to cold and it gets brittle, to hot and it cures to fast, so just follow the instructions and you should do well.

after many days of worry over the nautilux install, i finally bit the bullet and got er done last night. my message to any following along and having this step ahead of you is DONT SWEAT IT, as it was not difficult , went smooth, and i am very happy with results.
i did it in 4 sections (starting in middle to stern first, then to bow, 2 sections each way) and used the 3m 80 rubber and vinyl adhesive spray , spraying both vinyl and deck 2 coats at different angles (with cardboard down for overspray) Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_0715.JPG Views:	2 Size:	83.6 KB ID:	10644163Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_0722.JPG Views:	1 Size:	60.0 KB ID:	10644164 and waiting 4 minutes before rolling down Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_0723.JPG Views:	1 Size:	37.4 KB ID:	10644165

next i had the admiral hold the vinyl up, got down on my knees and rolled it slowely using a piece of conduit cut to length, and once we had a section done i rolled it vigourously with the hand roller pictured and came back an hour later and rolled again. tonight i trim vinyl and find my pedestal bolt holes to cut out. Yeah not skimping on that expensive 3M 80 adhesive is the key to good results, let it cure before walking on it.
