Since spring is at least pretending to be here, time to revive this thread. Got her out a few times in the fall. Worked out a few mechanical kinks, and a bit more tuning up in order for this season, as well as more finishing work.
Bow storage locker/rod-locker under the front dishing deck, running back under the step which will be upholstered and hinged this spring.
Still debating hatch layout and execution to access the additional under-bow storage.
Thinking 1 hatch on either side, one forward, and one above the lower-hatch covering the battery well. Either Tempress or more likely build and cover hatches to match the deck (which I'll also cover in padded Nautolex like the main deck.). Still debating livewell location and size too.
Any suggestions on hatches or good-quality but not $$$$ latch options for building my own?
Also - I'm definitely a huge fan of the hydraulic tabs that I added. They make an ENORMOUS difference in handling and in dealing with the giant weekend tuna trawlers around here.
I think the 3/4" pin mounts are perfect for casting seats with the 11" post and up front I used the offset post. The nice thing about those bases are they're flat and you could move the seats when/where they're needed. Also in all reality they could be used underway WITHOUT the post if positioned close enough to the front of the casting deck. Those solid welded on 3/4" solid steel pin with heavy spring won't snap off without the leverage of a post.
