New Boat Owner

Hi All,

I am trying to find the model of boat I have. It's a 1973 Starcraft American 18' with a closed bow (guess that's what you call it. Very straight lines. It has a split windshield but just a little storage locker under the windshield and then lots of storage under the bow.

It's got a 165 HP Waukesha engine.

Any help would be appreciated. I want to replace the canopy but want to make sure I get one that fits.

have your local canvas shop make you one. then its guaranteed to fit.

Okay ... ya' got me on that one? I know the 165 (GM 250) inline 6 - Waukesha would imply GE? What's the stern drive on that boat?

It's a 165hb Waukesha 302 CID 2brl. I don't know the make / model of the stern drive. If it stops raining I'll check into that.

That is one pretty boat and they really are not that common at least on the west coast area where I grew, I would love to find an American in the shape that one is, I might risk divorce to get one and I have been married for a really long time now!

I'm a Mercruiser guy but having a Volvo Penta is way better than having the OMC Stringer WLOD. :happy:

We went through an "upgrade" a while back, and the development team has been working out all kinds of bugs. That one doesn't look like it's been worked out yet.

I can't subscribe to it either. I'll put it on the glitch list.
