I think using this thread will work for the restoration so Ill just keep it going.
It was a long week driving by the V5 SS every day having to wait for my days off to get some things done on her and look over the job that lays ahead. Got everything unloaded and inside except for the hull.
Yeah the sun wasn't even up yet.
Rivets, I think there was an issue with the solid rivets alloy content, maybe a defect in the order SC got. It's a bit difficult to tell in the pic but some bucktails have a green hue to them while others are the normal gray. I'm betting the green ones are all toast and need replaced. Oh yeah and there's lots of scribe lines on the bottom.
Not sure what they were thinking when they laid a massive bead of clear silicone along the deck support stringers at the bottom but there is a way for the water to get out, a 1" drain hole back by the bilge on each side.
Here's some odd void filled, unsealed weak looking transom ply that was used. It appears as though this 9 layer ply was not a laminated rather one manufactured piece. It's also not one piece, it has the wings.
Yeah it's rotten. :lol:
Oh yeah and SC with those steel mandrel blinds, there's a bunch of these rust lines.
