Every time I think I am back to work for good on this thing, I find "other" things to do. I've been slowly picking at various things and patiently waiting for the heat to break, it finally broke yesterday! The humidity has been higher than I like for spraying base coat/clear, but today was better than ideal. I think I had it masked off 3 or 4 weeks ago just waiting for the time and temps to cooperate!

Anyway, here are some pics of today's progress before and after unmasking. The color shifts quite a bit in the second set of photos once I was able to open the door (especially shown on the motor).

Thanks guys!

I decided to just roll on the topside paint for now, I may go back and do something different in a couple years, but for now I am happy with what it is! On to final fitment and assembly. I would really like to get it out before ice becomes my enemy and the Perch quit biting for the "soft water" time left this year. Progress should be fairly "fast and furious" now.

Carpet was glued down on the bow yesterday, the rest will be glued down this week. Lots of wiring, routing, and miscellaneous left to get done!

Great looking paint job and work in general . I'm going to be painting my SS and trailer as well in the near future and am curious about what paint you used on your boat sure looks good . I will be using the same colors as what you have there .

Thanks guys!

ab59 I used base coat / clear coat from Nason (line from Axalta), the blue is 2010 Camaro Aqua Blue Metallic, the white is just Rust Oleum Industrial with hardener. The white on the bottom of the boat is GM Fleet white that was also base/clear. If I was to do it again, I would have skipped base/clear on the bottom and done a single stage white.

Thanks!

The work continues!

Here is the the bow trim, installing the hinge for the battery compartment, mounting the trolling motor, etc.

Just waiting for wiring connectors to show up, I went to the store the other day and could not stomach prices... I will just order them online tonight.

Lots of wiring to do now!

Thanks Watermann!

I did a bunch of stuff that you can't see this week and I managed to hang the motor back on the transom and got the steering hooked up/adjusted.. Hopefully I will be able to get time to do the wiring this weekend! I have most everything to do it, just not sure I will have the time!

Hey man that's really coming along nicely! That paint looks stellar. The open bow section looks awesome. My buddy picked up a 15' holiday this summer and I'll be showing him your thread to show him how much work is really involved in making an open bow.

Thanks knezzer, if he wants may email or anything, feel free to PM me.

I managed to sneak a little work in this morning. I never posted the first side panel under way because I forgot to take pictures... This time I at least remembered to take a two, one during and one after. I just need to get a few bolts tomorrow for the controls and it will be in the boat permanently.

That looks awesome.

Great job. You certainly can be proud of that boat.

I can’t wait to see it in the water.

I used what you see in the picture (leftover piece protecting the vinyl from the plywood), I think it was 1/4" foam with scrim attached. Seems to be just enough padding, maybe a little more than I intended.

I cannot get the video to post here... I woke the motor up tonight after sitting for the last 2+ years. She will be in the water very soon! So for now, I will just share the smoke filled shop picture.

*Edit, maybe this will work.

It is getting really late in the year... I am a little past my self imposed splash/fishing trip date. Hopefully the weather will cooperate one weekend soon to get out.

I still need to mount wire the stereo and fish finder, but everything else is functional. A little tidying up left to do, but here are the pics of the mounted console seats.

It's the opposite time of the year for boating... I look foward to finally splashing my boat the during my first planned trip the first weekend in May (if not before)... But in the meantime, I am trying to make the best of it!!
