prop advice for 26 foot, 1974 stamas

Hi,
prop advice needed for 1974 stamas, 26 foot, 440 Chrysler Engine. What size prop do I need? I really appreciate your help. Thanks, Joe

This boat has a 440 chryser engine and am trying to get right size prop. i am only getting 3200 rpms, should be getting 4200 to 4400 rpm. Any thoughts? Thanks, Joe.

Did you buy the boat recently or has the engine always been overpropped? Every 1" in pitch is = to 150-200 rpms. So you have to figure out what you have and go from there. The local prop shop should be able to help you.Diameter also comes into play.Is your compression good on all 8 cylinders? If not that may also be a issue as well as gas delivery etc,Engine should be in tip top shape,then address the prop.Or try the prop forum as the model of boat has little to do with prop pitch.
