first off I have always heard about the mighty Slickcraft's from former owners and the design lines did catch my eye. But Now I have bought a 1969 SH 235 Hardtop that's been stored inside a airplane hanger in Wisconsin. The Hardtop is really classic. Sliding green-tinted side window, the cabin area is really open with small cabin below. Saw some New 2010 off shore boat's down in the Florida keys that still use this design of a Hardtop with open back. The 1969 250 cubic inch in-line Six from GM looks big and The 160hp Mecruiser outdrive is not that old looking (design wise). Just really proud to be launching the 23 footer this spring off Chicago's North Shore of Lake or Ocean Michigan. Old Timers say this boat was design for Lake Michigan. Former owner told me stories of blasting throught 6 foot whitecap sea's for 20 miles off Greenbay.
Happy to be part of the Slickcraft family. 1969 23' Hardtop's seem's hard to find. I needed a larger boat with a cuddy and this is what I found on Ebay.
May upgrade electrical on the GM motor. besides that, I guess the straight six is pretty easy on maintanence. Think the 1969 Mecruiser outdrive is still trustworthly.
