am new to this site but i just picked up a 78 sx 176 with a 350 gm motor. am told it is a corvette motor... I can't wait untill spring to get it in the water. I hear it really moves. Now all i need to do is get the starter to turn over:mad: I'll let you know.

How much does your boat weigh?? I also have a 77 sx176 with a 350 and it seems like a brute.

Here's mine. '68 SS170 w/135 Johnson

Picked it up a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait for the weather to break so that I can take it out. It will need a floor eventually, but it's ready to go now.

If i remember right i think it is around 1,200 1,500 lbs..dont hold me to that i think that is right....one min...ok just ran out and looked the only thing i found was load capacity witch was 1450lbs that must be what i was thinking. it cant be more then 2,000lbs b/c my trailer is rated for 4200 and it says the unlaiden weight of trailer is 2200lbs.

I love this boat it is my first boat and after working some of the kinks out she runs like a champ. i like how fast it planes and how well it cuts through chop...the speed isnt to bad either :D

Hey Jake, nice boat! I have a 1969 SS170V. At least that is what I think it is. Looks very similar to yours with a few small differences.

Got any more pics?

Here's a shot of mine coming out of the water at the end of last season

Nice. It looks pretty much the same.

Just this one more pic from today. Maiden voyage! We put it in the Ohio river for a shakedown. It's got a few issues, but the motor runs perfectly.

Just picked up my 1977 17.5' Slickcraft with a Ford 302 in it. Got it up and running this weekend without any big issues. New interior and paint on her... haven't seen another quite like it.

Interested in hearing how that project is going. I'm parting out a 1966 160. Let me know here if there is anyway I can help.

Glad to see some fellow Slickcrafter's here! I've got an '89 279 Slickcraft with a single 2003 496 MAG with BravoI outdrive and I love it! I'd like to see this forum grow for the benifit of all of us Slickcraft owners. I've learned alot about them from working on it for the last 3 years. Now that most of the problems are gone, I can't imagine selling it. What do ya'll think?

CCMARCH your the last Slickcraft person on the threads, don't give up, there is alot of Slickcraft's out there - lets keep them alive!!!

Hello fellow Slickcraft owners.
In the process of restoring a 1972 SS 195 225 HP. Sterndrive, electric shift.
Had a overheating problem, tracked it down to cracked heads and bad exhaust logs.
Love the style.

Recently acquired a 1967 Slickcraft SS160 V from my dad. Im looking for the metal "Slickcraft" emblem from the back of the bucket seat. Its the metal emblem that is mounted across the aluminum band across the back of the seat. Thanks for any help! Here's a picture of what it looks like and the size.
