Hey everyone I'm new to this forum thing. I bought this sleekcraft ambassador about 8 months ago just because it seemed one of a kind. So here's what I know. Built in 79 came from the factory with twin amc 360 v8s and panther jets. From what I can find out it was the only one built with that set up. I'm in the process of restoring it but I'm hoping someone on here has some more information on my boat. Thanks!

cool boat.

if I were rebuilding it, I would probably switch to a berkley style jet with a bit more power (ok, a lot more power)

the Panther jets are supposed to be great for skiing behind. they have a fantastic hole shot and are not a mix-flow pump like the berkley. however the top speed isnt there the panther jets did pair well with the AMC 360's however there were a few 390's and some 401's if you keep the panthers, I would build a set of 401's

here is a link to your same boat with twin 401's http://www.vintagejetboats.com/showthread.php?6690-BAD-ATTITUDE-1981-Sleek-Craft-Ambassador

here are your pics posted so they show....which are the pics from the internet link I provided. which begs the question, either you have had the boat for a while since these pics were posted on vintage jet boat 4 years ago and you have the 401's, or you grabbed your pics from their site

Hey Scott those pictures are old ones I got from the previous owner. The boat was on another site under the name BAD ATTITUDE. Unfortunately the boat basically sat in Oregon for the last 5 years or so. The guy swore up and down that it had 401s but after pulling the motors last week they are clearly stamped 360 I will try to upload some better pictures but it keeps saying the file is to big?

I would vuild a set of 401's. Pull them from a 1971 matador and tou get a forged steel crank and rods. Doesnt take much to make 450hp or more out of a 401
