I'm in the process of repairing a 1978 17" Sea Nymph to get it ready for a little fishing in the SF bay and a few other places.
I've been taking a few pictures of the progress and eventually will get them posted.

Currently I have the "old" plywood of the transom out to be replaced.
For some reason the former wood of the transom stopped about 3 1/2 inches above the bottom of the hull.

My plan is to extend the new plywood to about 1/4 inch of the bottom and epoxy coat the wood before installing.
Once installed I thought I'd calk between the bottom of the plywood and hull.

Am I doing this "right" ?

You have to click on the photos to see em.
The above pic is an inside pic of the transom before removal.

Getting the new (epoxy coated) plywood part of the transom installed.
Looking at the aluminum in the photo you see where I removed the paint around all the holes in it.
Have a few more to do. I will be circling each one with 5200 later.

Next, fitting a piece of 3/16" aluminum plate to cover the OEM aluminum.

Makin' progress, MR.

Did you find a motor yet?

BTW - You can add more than 1 pic to a post. Makes it a little easier to follow along.

I cut the new aluminum plate about 1/4" smaller than the original so it won't stick out and get snagged on a dock or ???
5200 applied around all the holes, edges plus more in open areas between the bolts.

Picked up a Mercury 2005 60 hp 4 stroke, 113 hours. :)
I,m thinking I might paint the new transom with some industrial light grey semi gloss paint I have left over from another job I did.
(if it's still good)

Next, cleaning the inside of the hull then replacing the deck.

Last pic for now and next time I'll post more than one at a time...
